It’s important to note that reflexologists do not diagnose or claim to cure any medical conditions. Reflexology is a holistic therapy that works to restore balance and support the body’s natural healing processes. It should complement—not replace—conventional medical care.

Your first appointment will last about 70 minutes, as it includes a consultation. During this time, you'll complete a health and lifestyle questionnaire to outline your goals for the treatment. Together, you'll create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your concerns and needs. For subsequent appointments, expect a 60-minute session, with 45-50 minutes dedicated to reflexology. Once you're ready, you'll remove your socks and shoes and settle into a Lafuma chair with a cosy blanket and pillow. The session is entirely your choice—whether you prefer listen to a relaxing music or simply switch off. Your feet will be cleansed with water wipes, and the treatment will involve gentle finger and thumb pressure on the reflex points of your feet and lower legs, using a balm of your choice. Afterward, there will be time to discuss the session, any sensitive areas, and aftercare tips.
Expect to feel relaxed, calm, and energized, with an improved sense of well-being. Your sleep may become deeper and more restful. Some people experience a healing reaction, which might include feeling teary, tired, or lethargic for up to 48 hours—this is a normal part of the healing process.
Reflexology's effects are cumulative, so 4-6 weekly treatments are recommended to kickstart healing and enhance your health and well-being. Chronic conditions may take longer to show improvement, but closer-together sessions can speed up results. Many people continue with fortnightly or monthly sessions for ongoing maintenance, to support health conditions, or to align with monthly cycles.
Opt for loose clothing and trousers that can be rolled up for comfort during the session.
There are certain conditions that may temporarily prevent you from receiving reflexology treatments until you have fully recovered. These include:
Acute undiagnosed pain
Cellulitis
Contagious or notifiable diseases
Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT)
Drug or alcohol abuse
Gangrene
Awaiting medical tests or procedures
However, reflexology may still be an option for those with cuts, bruises, verrucas, corns, or fungal infections, as these areas can either be avoided or corresponding reflex points on the hands can be treated instead.
